Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By creating an account or using MRT Trading Journal ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

MRT provides a trading journalling platform including trade logging, analytics, an AI coaching feature, and educational content. The Service is provided for informational and journalling purposes only.

3. Accounts

• You must be 18 or older to create an account
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure
• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• You may not create accounts for others without their consent
• One person, one account — accounts are non-transferable

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape or extract data from the platform at scale
• Share your account with others (Team plan allows multiple seats)
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or infringes third-party rights
• Attempt to circumvent any security or access controls
• Use the AI Coach to generate financial advice for third parties commercially

5. Your content

You own your trade data, notes and screenshots. By uploading content, you grant us a limited licence to store and process it solely to provide the Service to you. We do not claim ownership of your content.

6. Subscriptions and billing

• Free plan features are provided at no charge and may change
• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
• You may cancel anytime — your subscription continues until the end of the billing period
• We do not offer refunds for partial months, except where required by law
• We may change pricing with 30 days notice to existing subscribers
• Payments are processed by Stripe — subject to their terms

7. AI Coach

The AI Coach feature is powered by Anthropic's Claude API. By using it:

• You understand responses are AI-generated and may be incorrect
• You agree not to rely on AI responses as financial advice
• Your queries are processed by Anthropic subject to their usage policies
• We are not liable for any trading decisions made based on AI responses

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may perform maintenance, updates or experience downtime. We are not liable for losses arising from unavailability.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from Settings. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity. Upon termination, your data will be deleted per our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MRT is not liable for:

• Any trading losses — financial decisions are entirely your own
• Indirect, incidental or consequential damages
• Data loss beyond what we can recover from our backups
• Third-party service outages (Stripe, Supabase, Anthropic, Vercel)

Our maximum liability in any circumstance is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.

11. Intellectual property

MRT, its design, code, and content (excluding your trade data) are owned by us and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce or create derivative works from the platform without written permission.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms. We'll notify you by email and in-app for material changes. Continued use after 30 days of notice constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
